Over 450 WordPressers took The Future of WordPress Careers survey, and the results have been summarised and presented in the infographic below.

Idea for my talk

The idea for my WordCamp Europe talk came from my personal research around careers, and thinking about what kind of career I am looking to build. WordPress is my first digital community, before working in WordPress, I was working as an interpreter. Coming into digital I now understand that we all need to be comfortable working with data and technology, but there is an ever growing value in soft skills, especially communication.

Thank you to all of you who participated in my survey, and came to my talk. I had a lot of fun doing the work for this event. To my blog readers even if you are not in the WordPress industry I think the survey is very reflective of the general digital community, so I hope you find it useful.
