One of the many things I learned at The Power of Storytelling conference in Romania, Bucharest, is that storytelling is the most democratic form of creativity. Murray Nossel, says that people can argue about politics, social and cultural beliefs, and opinions, but they can’t argue about experiences. Your story is what happened to you. I want to take a few hundreds words and tell you about my experience during this conference. I will share my experience in the form of lessons that stuck with me the most.
Stories are not just in words, they are also in movement. Danka Sekulovic, a circus artist from Belgrade, explores the storytelling elements of a performance. For a powerful performance you need to be able to express emotion, and take your audience on a journey. One way to do that is to tell a story with movement.

As a content marketer you have to be a little bit of everything, a writer, a designer, an inventor, a developer, a project manager, a philanthropist and an educator. It's a tough job to master. Interviewing someone successfully is an art, and often people don’t take it too seriously. Companies tend to send their communicative, friendly and approachable employees to get the interview done. And, while these are all qualities that are needed in an interviewer, what’s lacking in many cases are the skills to prepare and conduct a thorough interview. This post won’t give you the 7 top tips you need to ace interviews, or the top 10 resources to read, it will hopefully shed some light on how to approach this art in a different way. So, if you are looking for a quick fix for tomorrow’s interview, stop reading now.
To all my design friends who struggle with writing high converting copy, this one is for you. Writing great copy isn’t about your creative writing abilities or fluency of language, rather it’s about having a conversation with your customers. If you learn how to ask your customers the right questions, and listen to their stories, you will become a much better copywriter.
Following the first workshop held in Belgrade, The Irresistible Power of Strategic Storytelling, was held for the second time in Croatia, at WordCamp Zagreb. I would like to share with you a great story about Zagreb, a case study done by the students. This story will entice you to visit Zagreb, and give you an example of what we learned that day.
For those of you who haven’t had a chance to read about what we learn on these workshops, have a look at the workshop breakdown and learning points. Also, my good friend Anastasios, aka CrowdedTent, put together a video of the workshop held in Belgrade.
Inspiration is a fleeting thing, as most of you know, but a content calendar and post schedule rarely wait for you to be inspired to write. How do you write when you really have to and you are not feeling it? You master the art of structuring your article, and you rely on that to convey the information you have in an engaging tone.
How does storytelling fit in the big business picture? Carrie Dils in her interview on storytelling tells me what storytelling means to her, her most popular story, which happens to be on web hosting and email, her WordPress story and a story from her childhood.
